LEOPOLD - North Daviess shut down Perry Central's running game and beat the Commodores 7-6 in the Class A football sectional semifinals Friday.
The Commodores, who normally rely mostly on their running game, were held to 21 yards rushing on 27 carries.
T.J. Hall gained 36 yards on 18 carries, Mikey Wilkerson gained 1 yard on one carry, and their other three players who carried the ball ended with minus yardage.
Thus the Commodores trailed 7-0 when they got the ball back at their own 20-yard line with 2:14 left in the game and no timeouts remaining.
