New SWIRCA and More service helps uninsured explore health-care options

PERRY COUNTY – The Southwestern Indiana Regional Council on Aging is offering a free service to those wanting help exploring health-care options.

SWIRCA staff will be available every Friday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Perry County Public Library, Tell City branch and from 4 to 7 p.m. Feb. 3 at the Cannelton branch.

The service, called health insurance marketplace, is a new way to help people find coverage that fits their budget and meets their needs. Whether attendees are uninsured or just want to explore their options, this service will help find the right coverage.

People interested are invited to meet with a certified Indiana Navigator and learn more about their health-insurance options during the walk-in hours listed or by calling Sarah with SWIRCA and More at (812) 431-3579 for more information or to schedule an appointment.

Those interested should take their Social Security numbers, or document numbers for legal immigrants, pay stubs, W-2 forms or “wage and tax statements, policy numbers for any current health insurance and information about any health insurance available from employer or the employer of a family member.

Certified interpreters and translators may be available by request for appointments.

SWIRCA and More serves a six county area including Perry and Spencer and serves order adults and individuals of all ages who are disabled. SWIRCA and More is a non-profit organization whose mission is Enhancing Opportunities for Independent Living.
