New Albany driver jailed after Saturday run from state police

PERRY COUNTY - A New Albany man allegedly driving drunk behind the wheel of a 1985 Ford LTD couldn't outrun a trooper and his 300-horsepower Ford Mustang Saturday and spent the weekend in the county jail.

Trooper Tim Weisenberger was on routine traffic patrol near the Perry County-Crawford County line just before 3:30 p.m. when he noticed a driver who wasn't wearing a seatbelt. Weisenberger activated his Ford Mustang's lights and siren but the driver, later identified as Kevin Lee Starks, 44, of New Albany allegedly sped up and refused to stop.
