PERRY COUNTY - Responding to global fear and uncertainty over an emerging influenza outbreak, county and state health officials pleaded with residents this week to take precautions they said will limit chances of contracting North American Human Influenza A.
The virus, which as of Wednesday had been detected in several nations after killing more than 100 people in Mexico, had been reported in 10 U.S. states, including Indiana. There has also been a death in Texas.
The virus has not been detected in Perry County or southern Indiana.
