TELL CITY - Copies of a new cookbook published in conjunction with Tell City's sesquicentennial are hot off the press and available for purchase at several locations.
The 360-page books sell for $10 each.
Mu Gamma Sorority worked for several months gathering recipes. Once they were edited and organized, recipes were submitted to Debby Mills-Phillips of Lamar, who compiled and published the book.
"We're very pleased with them and Mu Gamma thanks everyone who helped us by submitting recipes," sorority member and cookbook chairwoman Susan Harpenau said.
The cookbook's cover includes the official sesquicentennial logo and its pages are organized into separate sections for appetizers, salads, desserts, meats, casseroles and main dishes.
Many of the recipes have been handed down for several generations and the opening pages of the cookbook share recipes from the original Schweizer Fest cookbook published in 1973.
All recipes in the cookbook share the names of the people who submitted them and, in some cases, the backgrounds of the dishes.
Cookbooks can be purchased at The Perry County News and the Perry County Chamber of Commerce office. They are also available at three local stores, Tassels, Gatherings and Celebrations.
