LINTON - Linton-Stockton used a swarming, hard-hitting defense and a versatile running game to beat Perry Central 35-14 in the Class A football sectional finals Friday.
Linton forced three turnovers - two in the first quarter - and blocked a punt in the first quarter.
As a result, the Miners enjoyed excellent field position early and scored two touchdowns in the first 5:17 of the game.
The Miners made a hard hit on the opening kickoff, forcing a fumble that they recovered at Perry Central's 30-yard line.
