Menus available for 'Angel' food program

TELL CITY - June menus and order forms for Angel Food Ministries' discount-food program are available at The News.

The program offers $30 boxes of food valued at $60 or more, as well as senior boxes of 10 fully cooked meals for $28 and an allergen-free box of food for $23. There are also meat and fruit and vegetable specials for the month.

June orders are due June 15 with food delivered June 26. A new feature allows orders to be placed online and paid for with a debit or credit card. Menus are available online at www. angelfoodministries.com. There are no age or income guidelines to participate.

This month's signature box ($30) includes 1.5 pounds of sirloin steaks, 2 pounds of macaroni-and-beef dinner entrée, 2 pounds of chicken breasts, 1 pound of ground beef, 1 pound of chicken breast fajita strips, 1 pound of breaded crunchy fish bits, 1.5 pounds of smoked chicken sausage, 2 pounds of heat-and-serve green beans, 1 pound fajita blend of onions and red and green pepper strips, 1 pound of rice, 25-ounce can of pasta sauce, 1 pound of pasta, 3 pounds of Idaho potatoes, 32 ounces of 2-percent shelf-stable milk, 1 dozen eggs and dessert.

Among June specials is a 5.5-pound meat grill box that includes 2 pounds of ribeye steaks, 2 pounds of pork chops and 1.5 pounds of wrapped turkey mignon. There is also a chicken-and-rib box for $17 and flavored hamburger grill box, $19.

A premium fresh fruit and veggie box ($22) includes 4 ears of yellow corn, yellow squash, zucchini, one head of cabbage, one stalk of celery, one ripe pineapple, one mango, six lemons, one avocado, one cantaloupe, 3 pounds of red potatoes, 2 pounds of onions and a fruit and veggie recipe sheet.

There are also two after-school boxes, $16 and $24, that include a variety of child-friendly snacks and fruits.
