Leopold Gang 4-H club
LEOPOLD – The Leopold Gang 4-H club had its first official meeting of the year Jan. 29 at Perry Central Junior-Senior High School.
Before the meeting, pizza, chips and cookies were served followed by a game involving teamwork. The main goals of the meeting were to elect officers for the current year and to continue to enroll 4-H members. Freshman Austin Benjamin was elected president and eighth-grader Adam Dauby was voted vice president. Latisha James, an eighth grader, became secretary and Elizabeth Dauby, a seventh grader, treasurer. Other leadership positions like recreational leader, health and safety leaders and news reporter were also filled.
The group discussed T-shirt designs and community service ideas. While 4-H members elected officers, the Explorers went to an adjacent classroom to begin to learn about the space project they will all exhibit at the county fair.
The next meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Feb. 25 at Perry Central.
