Mater Dei defeats PC girls

TELL CITY - A 12-minute span with only one field goal proved fatal to Perry Central in a 65-54 loss to Mater Dei in the Class 2A basketball sectional semifinals Friday.

Perry Central had a four-point lead midway through the second quarter and still led 25-24 after Deidra Dickerson hit two free throws with 2:27 left in that period.

Mater Dei then went on a 24-7 run that carried into the fourth quarter.

Perry Central hit 5 of 13 free throws in that span and scored only one field goal, on an inside move by Alie Schroeder.
