Mary Helen Lautner, 85

TELL CITY – Mary Helen Lautner, 85, passed away Monday, Jan. 30, 2012, at Newburgh Healthcare.

She was born May 30, 1926, in Bristow to William and Mary Olive (Huff) Lanman, who preceded her in death, along with husband, Roland “Shorty” Lautner; her brothers, Delbert, Charles and James Dow Lanman; a sister, Mildred Holman; a grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
Helen was a graduate of Bristow High School. She was married to Roland William Lautner Aug. 26, 1946.  She worked at General Electric and later was a nursing assistant at Lincoln Hills Nursing Home. 
She was a member of Nativity Catholic Church in Evansville and has been a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and Disabled American Veterans auxiliaries.
Helen enjoyed her beloved pet poodle, Cricket, gardening, sewing and teaching her children a love of nature.
Surviving are children, Brenda Ingwalson (Jared) of Littleton, Colo., Connie Blackford (Craig) of Newburgh, Duane Lautner (Trisha) of Evansville, Annette Johnson (Lester) of Austin, Texas and Terri Lautner-Uebelhor (Brad) of Newburgh; a brother, Robert Lanman of Tell City; seven grandchildren, Matt Ingwalson, Kate Hembree, Nathan Blackford, Molly Mackey, David Blackford, Lindsey Williams and Travis Smith and nine great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, (today) at St. Paul Catholic Church. The Rev. Henry Kuykendahl will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. today at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home, Tell City.
Memorial contributions may be made to Nativity Catholic Church or St. Paul Catholic Church.
