TELL CITY – Mary Elizabeth (Sutcliffe) Taylor, 78, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville.
She was born to the late Floyd and Phoebe (Ball) Sutcliffe Jan. 31, 1932, in Gatchel.
She was married to Joseph “Ralph” Taylor Dec. 31, 1949, who survives.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, John and Andrew Sutcliffe.
She was a homemaker and a member of Lilly Dale Church of Christ. She loved her grandchildren, gardening and word searches.
She is survived by husband Joseph “Ralph” Taylor of Tell City; her sons, Allen and his wife, Betty Taylor of Cannelton, Steve and his wife, Laceta Taylor of Lynden, Wash., Lester and his wife, Debbie Taylor of Tell City and Rick and his wife, Sharon Taylor of Bristow; a daughter, Jane and her husband, Tom Bayer of Tell City; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; a brother, Larry Sutcliffe of Tell City and two sisters, Linda Sutcliffe and Ruth Cronin, both of Tell City.
Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010, at Lilly Dale Church of Christ. Brother Harry Coultas will officiate. Burial will take place in Lilly Dale Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 27 and from 9 to 11:15 a.m. at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Lilly Dale Cemetery.
