Marksmen split with Wildcats

MOUNT VERNON—Tell City had 22 hits as it split a baseball doubleheader with Mount Vernon Saturday.

Tell City won the second game 10-6 behind a 12-hit attack.

Kyle Osborne drove in four runs for the Marksmen that game as he went 3 for 4. Andy Chinn and Trent Gunn each hit a two-run double.

Chinn and Nick Kleaving each had two hits.

Jordan Rhodes picked up the win in relief. Flannagan walked nine and struck out two before being relieved in the fourth inning.

Tell City lost the first game 5-3 despite outhitting the Wildcats 10-5.

The Marksmen scored only one run in the second inning despite having four hits in that frame.

Mike Maddle and Travis Jones each went 2 for 3 to lead Tell City hitters. Gunn drove in two runs with a single and a sacrifice fly.

Tyler Albin pitched a complete game for Tell City to take the loss. He struck out four and walked three.

The split gave Tell City an 11-9 record.

The Marksmen will visit Crawford County today at 5 p.m.
