LINCOLN CITY—David Teague and Mason Waninger placed second in their weight classes to lead Tell City to sixth place in the nine-team PAC wrestling tourney Saturday.

The Marksmen scored 124 points. Southridge won with 208.
Teague, a freshman, won by forfeit against South Spencer and beat Logan Meyerholtz of Southridge 4-0 to reach the 106-pound finals.
Logan Dilbeck of Gibson Southern decisioned him 11-2 for the title. Dilbeck had pinned his previous two opponents.
Waninger, competing in the 120 weight class, won by forfeit and beat Yair Mendoza of Heritage Hills 5-1 to reach the finals.
Kaleb Greenwood of Gibson Southern edged Waninger 2-1 in overtime for the title.
Tell City’s Aubrey Craig (113-pound weight class), Travis Brinksneader (138) and Cody Osborne (heavyweight) each went 3-1 to place third.
Craig pinned Zach Brosmer of Forest Park in 4:17 in the consolation finals.
Brinksneader pinned Jonathan Macias of Southridge in 1:40 and Osborne beat Ryan Baker of Heritage Hills 2-1 in overtime in their final matches.
Jarrett Hawhee (132), Elliott Brown (160), and C.J. Rowe (195) placed fifth.
Kevin Yeung (126) and Austin Maffia (220) took sixth.
Due to injuries, Tell City filled only 11 of the 14 weight classes.
“We finished just a little behind where I thought we could,” said Tell City Coach Neal Stahly. “We were only 11 points away from fourth place, which would have been a big accomplishment for our team, considering where we finished last year.
“We had a couple kids finish above where they were seeded and a couple finish below, but overall it was a good day of wrestling.”
Tell City will compete in the Castle sectional Saturday at 9 a.m. Osborne is the No. 1 seed and Teague the No. 3 seed in their weight classes.
