Marksmen down Lanesville for fourth consecutive victory

LANESVILLE - Leslie Poole served 17 points and made 10 digs and seven kills as Tell City beat Lanesville 25-19, 25-14, 25-23 in volleyball Thursday.

Three of Poole's points came on ace serves.

Lauren Goffinet made 17 digs and four kills for the Marksmen. Brittney Harth added six kills and Julie Davis had 13 assists.

Paige Gelarden made 11 digs and served two aces and Jamie Brinksneader served six points.

"We played pretty well," said Tell City Coach Dalonda Hayes. "They had a couple of good hitters, but our passing was good and our hitting was good."

It was the fourth consecutive victory for the Marks-men, who improved to 5-4.

Tell City won the junior varsity match 22-25, 25-23, 15-12 as Megan Austin made seven kills.

Miranda Zuelly had seven assists for the 4-5 Marksmen. Hana Reed added five assists and served three aces.

Cassidy Barnhill made nine digs.

The Marksmen will visit Heritage Hills Tuesday at 6 p.m.
