Marksmen, Commodores split junior high games

LEOPOLD—Jacob Kelly had 13 points and eight rebounds as Perry Central beat Tell City 46-25 in eighth grade boys basketball Thursday.


Zach James added six points and Luke Hubert and Trent Speer scored five apiece for the Commodores.
“We’re starting to play as a team and make the extra pass to get the easy basket,” said Perry Central Coach R.T. Elliott.
Chandler Lacy scored seven points and Bryce Birchler six for Tell City, which hit only 11 of 31 free throws.
Tell City won the seventh grade game 28-26 after trailing by six with three minutes left.
Travis Burchett scored 10 points, Davin Lawrence six, and Bryson Naviaux and Whitaker Lyons five apiece for Tell City.
John Bashor and Luke Bishop each had six points and six rebounds for Perry Central. Trent McElfresh added five points.
