Marksman girls second in tri-meet

TELL CITY—Sarah Goffinet won two individual events and a relay to lead Tell City to second place in a three-team girls track meet Monday.

Northeast Dubois scored 85 points, Tell City 53, and Tecumseh 18.

Goffinet won the 1600-meter run in 5:44.5 and the 3200 in 12:30.

She teamed with Tiffany Davis, Andyn Rowe and Brittany Waninger to win the 3200 relay in 11:03.4.

Davis also won the 800 run in 2:37.38

The Marksmen won two field events. Kayla Galloway threw the discus 90 feet, 11 inches and Elizabeth Kohnert cleared 5 feet, 11⁄4 inches to take the high jump.

Tell City ran without top sprinter Katlyn Braunecker, who was sick.

Tell City, 2-2, will host an invitational Saturday at 9 a.m.

Shot put: Galloway 3rd

High jump: Elizabeth Kohnert 1st, 5-11⁄4

Long jump: Kohnert 2nd

110-meter hurdles: Courtney Blinzinger 3rd

300 hurdles: Courtney Young 3rd, Blinzinger 4th

800: Davis 1st, 2:37.38; Brittany Waninger 3rd
