Police looking for Tennessee resident

TELL CITY - Police are looking for a 34-year-old Tennessee man who allegedly molested a child last fall inside a restroom at Tell City's Sunset Park.

An arrest warrant for Shawn A. Pickett, of 660 Bell Road, Apartment 309, Antioch, Tenn., was issued last month in Perry Circuit Court. Tell City police have asked Tennessee authorities to arrest the man, who apparently visited Perry County last year. If convicted of the two Class A felonies of child molesting and attempted child molesting, Pickett could spend 20 to 50 years in prison on each count.

According to Tell City police, Pickett performed oral sex on a boy under the age of 14 in the park's restroom between Aug. 1 and Oct. 6. Police said the man then tried to force the child to perform oral sex on him. Pickett knew the child, police said.

Anyone with knowledge of the man's whereabouts is asked to call the Tell City Police Department at 547-7068. The court has ordered Pickett, once arrested, to be held on $400,000 surety or $40,000 cash bail.
