Malone, Miller named to football coaches’ academic all-state team

INDIANAPOLIS—Tell City’s Brennan Malone and Reese Miller were named to the Indiana Football Coaches Association’s academic all-state team released Monday.
To be eligible for the team, a player must be a senior and have played in at least 70 percent of his team’s games.
He also must have a grade-point average of at least 3.40 and an SAT score of at least 1660 or ACT score of  at least 24.
Malone, a quarterback and defensive back for the Marksmen, is ranked No. 1 in his class academically and scored 1840 on the SAT.
Miller, a running back and linebacker for the Marksmen, has a 3.813 GPA and scored over 1700 on the SAT.
Malone and Miller were among 44 players from Region 9 to make the academic all-state team.
