PERRY COUNTY – If absentee voting is any indication, local turnout in Tuesday’s election could be high, even for a presidential election.
As of Thursday afternoon, 2,168 people had cast absentee ballots, County Clerk Jean Schulthise said. At least another 80 people had voted Friday morning. “The presidential race drives a lot of the interest, but a lot of people vote early because of the convenience,” she said.
