TELL CITY-Longtime Tell City Babe Ruth League officers Joanie Little and Katie Rothgerber have been elected to the Southern Indiana Babe Ruth Hall of Fame.

Nominated by Tell City Babe Ruth president and area commissioner George Slunder, Little and Rothgerber were inducted at the annual Southern Indiana Babe Ruth meeting Oct. 8.

Slunder and Tell City Babe Ruth League director Tom Aldridge are also among about 18 people in the hall, which was started about seven years ago, said Slunder.

Little is the Tell City league’s treasurer and Rothgerber is its secretary. They have served in those positions at least eight years and continue to do so despite the fact they no longer have sons playing in the league.

At the meetings it was also announced that Babe Ruth has changed its rule on bat size. Now no bat larger than 25⁄8 inches in diameter, the same standard as in high school baseball, will be allowed.

Previously 23⁄4-inch bats could be used in Babe Ruth.
