TELL CITY - The Tell City-Perry County Public Library will celebrate National Children's Book Week today through May 15. The week is an opportunity for libraries to promote the joy of reading to children. This year, the library will have a "Spot the Plot" riddle book of rhymes for children to solve. Pictures posted on walls in the children's department will give clues about classic stories, encouraging children to become super sleuths as they solve the mysteries. Children can visit the library any time during the week to participate in the adventure. All children, birth to fifth grade, are invited to register any time Monday through Friday for grand prizes, which will be awarded at 10 a.m. May 15. A boy and girl from the categories of birth through two years old, preschool and kindergarten, first through third grades and fourth through fifth grades will receive a backpack stuffed with surprises. Children do not need to be present to win.
Parents and children are encouraged to visit during the week to browse the children's books, audio recordings, computer games, movies, music, magazines, games, puzzles, color sheets and more.
