TELL CITY - A woman with three decades' experience in helping companies and people mobilize their skills and develop their talents will share her wisdom with employees of Lincoln Hills Development Corp. next week. She'll also sign copies of her books.

Lincoln Hills Development Corp. will host author and speaker C. Leslie Charles Dec. 7. During the morning, she will present training as the keynote speaker for LHDC's annual in-service training event, expected to draw approximately 150 attendees. That session is reserved for LHDC employees, but in the afternoon, LHDC and the Tell City-Perry County Public Library will sponsor a book signing at the library from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Charles will have several of her books available for sale and signing. The public is invited.

Charles is the author of numerous books, including her most recent, "Bless Your Stress: It Means You're Still Alive!"

She has also appeared on CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, FOX, MSNBC, PAX, A&E and has been featured in USA Today and Redbook.

"A professional speaker for nearly 30 years, she is one of those rare individuals who inspire others by just being herself, Lincoln Hills Executive Director Larry Kleeman said.

"Since founding her East Lansing-based company, TrainingWorks, in 1979, Charles has made it her mission to help people mobilize their skills and talents in life and work so they can achieve their goals. As a speaker she helps audience members identify their skills and talents while motivating them to take the next steps toward success, however they define it," Kleeman said.

As a business consultant, Charles helps public and private-sector organizations throughout North America improve their teamwork, customer service, and communication. As a writer, she outlines complex ideas in simple terms so readers can be informed, intrigued and inspired at the same time, encouraging them to bring out their best, even under the worst of circumstances.

In 1990 Charles earned her Certified Speaking Professional designation from the National Speakers Association. She joined NSA in 1982 and was twice elected to its board of directors, spending six years serving the association.

Charles' other books include: "All Is Not Lost: The Healing Journey Through Crisis, Grief and Loss," "Why Is Everyone So Cranky? The Ten Trends Complicating Our Lives and What We Can Do About Them," "The Instant Trainer: Quick Tips for Teaching Others What You Know," "The Customer Service Companion: The Essential Handbook for Those Who Serve Others," "The Customer Service Companion Study Guide" and "Stick to It: The Power of Positive Persistence."
