LETTER: Third-graders enjoyed their walking tour of city

-A A +A

On Thursday, May 17, third-graders from William Tell Elementary had the opportunity to learn about our community by visiting various places of interest around Tell City.

We would like to thank those individuals and groups who allowed us to visit, and took time to educate our students about their places of business: Mayor Barbara Ewing and the staff of City Hall; Tina Malone, Eric Kehl, Glenda Gogel and the staff of German American Bank; Alan Malone, Roger Smith, Kathy Zabel, Cassandra Dickenson and the staff of the Tell City Police Department, and Chris Cail, Cheri Taylor, Gene Borders and Mary Phillips from the Tell City Historical Society.

Finally, we would like to thank Javier and Mercedes Mendez, and the staff of Fiesta Grande for allowing us to take over the restaurant, and for feeding 120 hungry third-graders and their chaperones.

Our community is fortunate to have many adults who are willing to give of their time for our students.
