LETTER: Thank you to everyone for making Tell City’s New Year’s Eve celebration a hit

-A A +A

On behalf of the Perry County Quality of Life Committee, we would like to extend our thanks to so many partners who assisted us in the first-ever Silversternacht celebration on New Year’s Eve. The event was a huge success due to the wonderful turnout and the immense amount of participation that local businesses, organizations and our local school corporations exercised to ensure the night was a memorable one.

A very special thank you is extended to German American Bank and Waupaca Foundry for donating the necessary funds to construct the iconic New Year’s apple. Thanks to the Tell City Electric Department for its expert assistance with installation of the Apple. Gratitude is also expressed to the Perry County Convention and Visitors Bureau for administratively working with us to help underwrite this event and to the City of Tell City for its support with coordination, preparation and use of its facilities. We also want to thank Tell City-Troy Township School Corporation for both the use of its facility and for having administrators and teachers on site to ensure this family-friendly event was a success.

Thanks to the numerous organizations and their members who diligently worked to make every aspect of the evening a success: Tell City Swim Club; Perry Central Key Club; Tell City Band Boosters; Tell City Renaissance Club; Mike Thorn; Marty Kaiser; Tell City Regional Arts Association-Shoot for the Stars singers; Sharilyn Franzman; Perry County Chamber of Commerce; Tell City Volunteer Fire Department; Tell City Reserve Police Officers; Moose Lodge; Tell City Wellness; and Run Perry County.

Most importantly the Perry County Quality of Life Committee would like to thank the citizens of Perry County for attending this event. It is your participation that truly made this event outstanding.

Plans are already being made for the 2013 celebration which is expected to be even bigger and better than 2012. If you are interested in becoming a part of this grand tradition, contact Eric Kehl at German American Bank.

We hope you enjoyed a new tradition that will be here for years to come.

ERIC KEHL
Chairman, Perry County Quality of Life Committee
