LETTER: Ohio River Sweep had many supporters

-A A +A

We would like to thank everyone who participated in this year’s River Sweep. The volunteers, and the following donors of food, money and supplies: Chicago’s Pizza, Subway, Mulzer Crushed Stone Inc., Noble’s IGA, Coca-Cola Bottling Co., Mick’s Pizza, Paper John’s Pizza and Perry County Memorial Hospital.

And, although we did not need the services of the police departments or the EMS, it was great to know they were there if their services were required. Also, thank you to the street departments of Cannelton and Tell City who disposed of materials picked up on the Ohio River banks.

A special thank you to The Perry County News for publishing activities, over the past year, concerning the Ohio River Sweep.

The sweep was very successful, both in numbers of volunteers and amount of debris removed from the river banks. And this is what the Ohio River Sweep is about, removing unwanted items from the banks of our national treasure, the beautiful Ohio River.

Let’s do it again in 2013.
