LETTER: Nation’s health-care crisis predates Obama

I’d like to address a couple of points in Cheryl Freeman’s letter in The Perry County News of Sept. 3. The first is her talking about President Obama robbing Medicare of $716 billion.

The figure in question is a case of getting rid of fraud, eliminating overcharges by hospitals and excess premiums charged by insurance companies under Medicare Advantage, not exactly stealing in the strictest sense.
