LETTER: Make plans now to attend ‘The King and I’

-A A +A

The cast and crew of the Schweizer Fest musical, “The King and I,” are working hard polishing and tweaking each detail. Presentation of the Old National Bank-sponsored production will be Aug. 4-7.

“The King and I” is a touching story of a widowed school teacher from England who was hired by the King of Siam to teach his many wives and children. His desire to elevate his country from being backward and under educated into a one of greater understanding and insight was more than accomplished by Anna, the teacher, and her son. Along the way the king and his son learned to be kinder and gentler leaders.

This musical was a smash hit on Broadway and it will be a heartwarming experience for everyone in the audience in the newly refurbished auditorium at the Tell City Junior-Senior High School.

The Schweizer Fest Committee hopes that you will be a part of this beautiful story. “The King and I” deserves to be seen by everyone, young and old.

I urge you to make it a part of your Schweizer Fest experience.
You’ll be glad you did.
