LETTER: Library’s silent auction a ringing success

-A A +A

The Friends of the Perry County Public Library would like to thank the staff, its patrons and the citizens of Perry County for supporting our Antiques at the Library and Silent Auction during National Library Week in April.

We want to thank the following vendors for setting up, displaying their items and sharing their expertise:

Joyce Alvey for her display of quilts; Chris Cail for his Tell City Chair Furniture books for reference; Mike and Kathy Finley for their antiques and framed historical prints: J.R. Flynn for his lunch box and toy collectibles; Mike Highfill for his display of Cannelton pottery; Helen and Spud Kleeman for their glassware and antique collectibles and Mark and Jocelyn Laflin for their coin and Civil War items.

The silent auction was very successful with the funds raised being used to help support programs for the Perry County Public Library System.

The following businesses and individuals donating items were:

Domestic Goddess, necklace; Petals Flower Shop, $10 gift certificate; Holistic Massage and Bodyworks, $60 massage and L.E.D. light; Mike and Kathy Finley’s Antiques, framed Tell City historical picture, Roland’s Jewelry, Lennox picture frame; Skinsations, $10 gift certificate and bag; Kleeman’s TreasureTrove, antique metal match holder and ceramic mug; Joyce Alvey; framed Connie Burris water color picture, framed downtown Tell City picture and handmade quilt; Chris Cail, Tell City Chair Furniture Primer; Mark and Jocelyn Laflin, Tell City Flag, coin set and Civil War bullets; Mary Phillips, Avon Winter Wonderland glass collection and Frank Sandage, signed copy to his Civil War book.

We want to thank those attending the open house recently at the Cannelton Library. We are very fortunate to have a county library system that can meet the needs of all of its citizens. With the arrival of the new bookmobile in May, all areas of the county will be covered. We encourage your continued support. The Friends of the Perry County Library welcome new member at anytime. Dues are $5 for an individual and $10 for a family membership.

Applications are available at any of the libraries.
