LETTER: Fundraiser will protect endangered horses

-A A +A

Horse Rescue South Inc. would like to thank the following people for their generous donations and hard work during our recent fundraiser and countywide events:

Orscheln Farm and Home staff, Tractor Supply staff, Guy Neil Ramsey, Leann Gehlhausen, New Directions, Gordie and Mary Aders, Cannelton American Legion, Cannelton Fire Department, Cannelton Festival Committee for allowing our horses to be there, C.J. and Rhonda Moskos, Brandon and Audrey Sodrel, Sonny and Kristi Sodrel, Samantha Sodrel, Wayne Brown, Carl Young and Robin Brown Thomas for bringing their donkeys for the petting zoo, Jeff Varner for the wagon rides, Niki Davos for the raffle tickets, Darcy Howell, Jason Brinksneader, Rick and Frankie Erickson, Jeff and Carla Vanhoosier, Gloria Payne, Wendy and Steve Vanwinkle, Chase Litherland and everyone who donated baked goods to our bake sale.

Thank you to Riverview Diner, Tell Street Cafe and the Freezer for allowing the rescue to put donation jars in their diners. Finally, a special thanks to Wayne Dixon and Pat Malone. You will go to horse heaven.

If we have omitted anyone, we are very sorry. The fundraiser was very successful this year and without the help and donations from the above mentioned, it could not be done.

The horses will stay in better health and not go hungry due to your help and donations. Our organization operates strictly on donations and without the help and people, we would not be able to help these horses.

If anyone would be interested in donating feed, hay or time at our rescue, please feel free to contact one of our volunteers at 547-2071 to set up a time to meet us.

Again, thank you to everyone.
