LETTER: Bike-athon raised money for St. Jude’s

-A A +A

The Cannelton Teachers Association wishes to thank everyone who helped to make this year’s bike-athon for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital a huge success.

This year’s bike-athon was the fourth-highest for fundraising in the 35 years the bike-athons have been held, raising a little over $4,000. We know that this would not have been possible without the help of many individuals and businesses.

We thank the Cannelton Police Department for escorting our riders to make sure they were safe the entire ride. We thank Ginger Conrad, Cannelton elementary principal, and all of the school personnel who supported the riders and the ride that day and the ceremony that followed. Thank you to all of the riders and their sponsors, and the many individuals who donated, for their hard work and support. We especially wish to thank the Perry County News for their wonderful coverage of our ride.

A special thank you goes to all of the area businesses and organizations who helped support this event by donating prizes or money:  ThyssenKrupp Waupaca, Wal-Mart, Charlie Weatherholt Contracting, Noble’s IGA, Dr. Schoene and the County Wide Animal Clinic, Tom’s Circle S, Maurices, Wall’s Drive-In, Iron Gate, Ponderosa, Patio Steakhouse, Radio Shack, Wendy’s,  Subway  and Long John Silver’s.

If we have forgotten to mention anyone, please know that we also thank you. Without everyone’s efforts, this bike-athon would not have succeeded.

Your support has helped to save many lives, and Cannelton CTA sincerely thanks you.
