LETTER: Assistance available for spaying, neutering

-A A +A

Spay Neuter Services of Indiana is offering $10 spays and neuters to help pets, pet owners and caretakers.

The half price special is available to Indiana residents with limited incomes and those who receive public assistance.

Our Pet Friendly License Plate Committee, appointed by SNSI, oversees the distribution of funds from Indiana Pet Friendly license plate sales which make this program possible.

Puppies and kittens can be spayed as young as six weeks or two pounds at certain veterinary clinics.

Because males can cause reproduction and females can become pregnant while very young, we urge pet owners to plan surgeries for four months of age, depending upon their veterinarian’s recommendation.

Additional information regarding the $10 offer and a list of participating veterinarians are available at www.GetThemFixed.org, where the application can be viewed and printed.

Or call (317) 767-7771. The application must be postmarked by Aug. 31.
