Lecture will focus on spiritual care after trauma

ST. MEINRAD – Carrie Doehring, associate professor of pastoral care and counseling at Iliff School of Theology in Denver, Colo., will deliver the annual Thomas Lecture on Philosophy and Theology at Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology.
The lecture will be held at 7 p.m. March 24 in the Gallery. Her talk is titled “Stepping into Worlds Shaped by Trauma: The Challenges of Intercultural Spiritual Care in the Aftermath of Overwhelming Life Experiences.”
A licensed psychologist, Doehring studied at McGill University, Wilfrid Laurier University and Boston University. She is the author of numerous academic articles and three books and the book-review editor of the Journal of Pastoral Theology. In addition, she was ordained a Presbyterian minister in 1978.
The lecture is free and open to the public. Parking is available in the Guest House and student parking lots. Saint Meinrad operates on Central time.
