Cannelton elementary students have been collecting cans for a food drive. In the first month, 156 cans were collected and donated to Jasper’s Food Pantry in Cannelton. Students in grades one through five are participating and each class is learning about cost, weight and counting while helping the needy. The classes are assigned different items to bring in each month for their service learning project. The third-grade class was the first to make the school's donation.
