NORFOLK, Va. - The parent company of Landmark Community Newspapers Inc. announced Thursday it may put itself up for sale, a decision that could affect ownership of The Perry County News and dozens of other community newspapers.
Landmark Communications, based in Norfolk, Va., confirmed it was exploring strategic alternatives, including the possible sale of the company's businesses, said Richard F. Barry III, vice chairman of the company.
Barry was quoted in a story Thursday on the Web page of the Virginian Pilot in Norfolk.
