CANNELTON – A man wanted for questioning in the alleged kidnapping Thursday of a man in Cannelton was captured Friday by Kentucky State Police.
According to Cannelton Patrolman Micah Jackson, the victim was approached in the parking lot of a Cannelton business by a male who displayed a firearm and ordered the victim to drive him to a location in Tell City.
Jackson did not release the location of the business but said the incident took place on Indiana 66.
The suspect, identified as Paul M. Lenz, 32, exited the vehicle after arriving in Tell City and the victim was able to flee and notify police.
Officers were notified of the kidnapping report at 9:23 p.m. Thursday.
Police said early Friday that Lenz was last seen in Hancock County, Ky., wearing a dark blue or black hooded sweatshirt and red pants with black stripes down the side.
Kentucky State Police detained him shortly after noon at the 10-mile marker on the Natcher Parkway.
Police said Lenz has a misdemeanor warrant for an unrelated offense.
