Kast named to ISU dean’s list

TELL CITY – Jeffrey Andrew “Andy” Kast of Tell City has been named to the dean’s list in the Indiana State University’s College of Science for outstanding scholarship during the spring 2011 semester.

He was also inducted into Phi Kappa Phi, an academic honor society in which membership is by invitation only and is restricted to students ranked scholastically in the top of their class, regardless of field of study.
Kast is a student in the Indiana University-Indiana State University B-MD Rural Health Program at Terre Haute. In addition to his undergraduate studies, he was chosen as a supplemental instructor in biology and as a tutor in chemistry at the University Help Center. This summer, Kast participated in a three-week trip to Honduras, where he shadowed native doctors in a hospital. He is currently shadowing Dr. Eric Kleeman in his Tell City clinic.
Entering his junior year, Kast has maintained a perfect 4.0 grade-point average.
He is the son of Jeff and Nikki Kast of Tell City, and the grandson of Glenn and Anna Hamilton of Cloverport, Ky., and Allen Kast of Tell City and the late Nancy Kast.
