Kast named to dean’s list

TELL CITY – Jeffrey Andrew “Andy” Kast of Tell City has been named to the dean’s list in the Indiana State University’s College of Science for outstanding scholarship during the fall 2010 semester.

Currently a sophomore in the ISU-Indiana University School of Medicine’s B-MD Rural Health Program, he has maintained a 4.0 grade-point average.
He was selected as a student instructor for the biology department and is a tutor in chemistry at the University Help Center. He recently presented the results of his summer undergraduate research fellowship, “Selective Lithiation of 2, 6-Dicholropyridine,” at the American Chemical Society Regional Conference in Indianapolis and was to present the results at the American Chemical Society National Conference in Anaheim, Calif., Sunday, March 27 through Thursday, March 31.
Kast is majoring in biological sciences with a minor in French. He is the son of Jeff and Nikki Kast of Tell City and the grandson of Glenn and Anna Hamilton of Cloverport, Ky., and Allen Kast of Tell City and the late Nancy Kast.
