TELL CITY—Tell City senior Anjan Kashyab was elected to the All-PAC boys tennis team Monday for the fourth year in a row.
Kashyab is the only Tell City boy to make all-conference in tennis at least three years. Danielle Dauby (1984, ’85 and ’87) and Sarah Spinner (2002-04) are the only Tell City girls to make it three times.
Playing No. 1 singles all four years for the Marksmen, Kashyab went 7-1 in the conference this year and 15-3 overall.
He was the second leading vote-getter on the all-conference team to Gibson Southern’s Cody Mann, who handed Kashyab his only conference loss. But Kashyab avenged that defeat with a win over Mann in a non-conference tourney three days later.
Kashyab, Mann and Forest Park’s Sam Beckman were the only repeaters from last year’s team.
Tell City finished third in the nine-team conference with a 6-2 record.
North Posey, which tied for fourth, led the all-conference team with three selections, one singles and two doubles players. Pike Central, which also tied for fourth, had two doubles players make it and four other teams each had one player make it.
Tell City Coach Nick Weyer said the all-conference voting by the coaches went “as I had thought—no surprises.”
