John and Fannie Roberson

John H. and Fannie B. Roberson of Canton, Ga., formerly of Derby, were honored with a surprise 70th wedding anniversary party June 27 at the Lodge at Bridgemill, where they now live.
The event was hosted by their children and grandchildren and everyone at the Lodge was invited. About 60 people attended to congratulate the couple and to hear the singer Raquel Buspos, who sang the couple’s favorite songs.
Mr. and Mrs. Roberson were married in 1942 during World War II. They have two children, five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
