Nov. 17 is deadline to apply for disaster unemployment assistance
PERRY COUNTY - Anyone in Perry and three other Indiana counties whose job was swept away by the Sept. 14 remnants of Hurricane Ike has until Nov. 17 to apply for disaster unemployment assistance.
That deadline is sooner than one The News reported Monday for applying for help in other areas related to recovering, such as property damage, and also applies to Floyd, Washington and Scott counties. Deadlines for 13 other counties expired Monday or Wednesday.
