Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Kunkler of Tell City will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, June 18 with a 1 p.m. Mass at St. Mark Catholic Church, St. Marks, followed by an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. at St. Mark Parish Center next to the church.
Jerome “Pete” Kunkler and the former Marlene Jasper were married at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church at Ferdinand, June 17, 1961.
The couple have eight children, Jennifer Kunkler, of Tell City, David Kunkler and wife, Donna of Brandenberg, Ky., Chris Kunkler and wife, Stacey of Jennings, Okla., Dan Kunkler and wife, Donna of Fitzgerald, Ga., Tina Kunkler-Laake and husband, Greg Laake of Vincennes, Bill Kunkler and wife, Julia of Evansville, Tony Kunkler of McCordsville and Jerene and husband, Sam “Tripp” Gilliam of Dublin, Ga.
The couple have 11 grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, one great-grandchild and one stepgreat-grandchild.
Mr. Kunkler retired from Willliam Tell Woodcrafters-Swiss Plywood.
Mrs. Kunkler retired from Lincoln Hills Development Corp. as a GED tutor and job trainer.
Both are active members of St. Mark Catholic Church. In lieu of gifts, Jerome and Marlene request that donations be made to the St. Mark Catholic Church Renovation Fund in anticipation of the parish’s 150th anniversary.
Everyone is welcome to the open house.
