DUBOIS—Northeast Dubois scored five unearned runs in the first inning and went on to beat Cannelton 10-0 in baseball Thursday.

“It was probably one of the worst games we’ve played all year,” said Cannelton Coach Mike Garrett. “We made too many mental mistakes on defense.”

Cannelton committed three errors. The Jeeps committed none and outhit Cannelton 9-3.

Cannelton loaded the bases with one out in the fourth inning on a single by Tyler Aud and walks to Cody Lawalin and Dillon Powers.

But two strikeouts ended that threat.

Ethan Herzog pitched the first inning for Cannelton to take the loss. He walked one and struck out none.

A bright spot for the Bulldogs was “we ran the bases well,” said Garrett. “We had five stolen bases.”

Cannelton, 1-9, will host Tell City next Monday at 5 p.m.
