Jasper pins Marksmen

JASPER - Jasper won 10 of 14 matches, including four by pins, to beat shorthanded Tell City 48-15 in wrestling Thursday.

Two of Tell City's better wrestlers missed the meet. Undefeated Keith Patrick was still sick and Eric Sabelhaus was sidelined with a shoulder injury.

Greg Batie was the only Marksman to win by pin. He nailed Phil Hautsch in 2:39 to raise his record to 8-0.

A.J. Flynn decisioned Evan Voges 3-2 in the 103-pound match to also improve to 8-0.

Kyle Shrubb and Justin Kleemann each also won a decision for the Marksmen.

Tell City, 8-1, will compete in Mater Dei's tourney Dec. 28-29.
