ISTEP scores low statewide

PERRY COUNTY - Perry Central Community School fared better than the other two school systems in Perry County in results of Indiana Statewide Testing for Educational Progress released Sept. 16 by the state's Education Department.

In areas examined by The News, Perry Central achieved rates higher than state averages in 35 categories and lower in 22. Tell City-Troy Township students achieved higher-than-average passing rates in 30 areas and lower rates in 28. Cannelton City Schools students achieved rates higher that state averages in three areas and lower in 49.
