TELL CITY – Jim Carter, president of the local Humane Society chapter, is working to improve county procedures regarding stray animals, and reminded the county commissioners March 18 he’d asked them two questions two weeks earlier.
The first was whether they would appropriate $6,000 to hire someone who would work under a contract with the county picking up animals when requested by the sheriff and delivering them to the county’s animal shelter.
