TELL CITY – The Southern Indiana Horseman’s Club will host a Fun Horse Show and benefit at 5 p.m. Aug. 24 at 9455 Summer Road, north of Tell City. Those attending are asked to follow signs approximately five miles north on Indiana 37.
The event will include games for all ages. There will also be some bleacher seating available but lawn chairs are recommended.
This show is also a fundraiser for the Stir-N-Hope Therapeutic Riding Program. Stir-N-Up Hope is a nonprofit organization that provides free therapeutic riding sessions to handicapped individuals from southern Indiana and northern Kentucky. The therapy sessions are held at their facility in southern Spencer County just off Orchard Road north of Reo.
There will be half-pot drawings, donation buckets and more available to assist the program staff in making these services available. Plans are for some of the Stir-N-Up Hope instructors, students and assistants to attend and demonstrate techniques used.
For more information about the organization, visit their website at www.stir-n-uphope.org and send them email at stirnuphope@psci. net.
The show is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m., however it may be delayed if there is extreme heat that afternoon. For more information, call 836-2244 or 836-2127.
