It was his warm sock hat, not the reindeer antlers on his head, that helped keep 9-year-old Dacoda Chenault warm during Friday night's Cannelton Christmas Parade. Sponsored by Harry G. Myers American Legion Post 142, its auxiliary unit and Sons of the American Legion detachment, the parade is a yearly kickoff to the holiday season. Bundled against the cold, large numbers of parade-goers watched floats, police and fire vehicles and motorcycles along Indiana 66 and Washington Street. More Cannelton parade photos appear under the headline, "Christmastime in Cannelton."
