LEOPOLD - Hoosier National Forest employees will burn approximately 750 acres in the Mogan Ridge area of Perry County this spring.
The exact dates of the burn hinge on weather and conditions in the forest. Fire Management Officer Mike Davis said forest officials will work to let the public know when the burn will take place.
"Once we know the date that we'll start the burn, we'll let the public know," he said.
The News will post information on its Web site, www. perrycountynews.com, and local fire departments and schools will be alerted.
Davis encourages anyone living near the area who has medical issues that might be affected by smoke to contact the Tell City Ranger Station so they can be added to a notification list.
