PERRY COUNTY – The Indiana Department of Transportation said Monday afternoon portions of Indiana 66 in the county are covered by high water.
Sections of the highway from Indiana 62 at Sulphur to Indiana 70 at Derby and from Derby to Indiana 166 at Rocky Point are closed.
When encountering a flooded roadway, INDOT urges drivers to turn around and not drive through standing water. Six inches of standing water is enough to cause passenger cars to stall and a foot of water will float many vehicles. For the latest road conditions, visit www.trafficwise.in.gov.
