HAWESVILLE, Ky. - Casi Hay hit a three-run homer with two out in the bottom of the seventh inning to give Tell City a 4-1 girls softball victory over Owensboro in the first game of the Hancock County tourney Friday.
The win raised the Marksmen's record to 4-1, their best start in eight years. Their only loss was 4-2 to Heritage Hills, which is ranked No. 1 in the state in Class 3A.
With the score tied 1-1 Friday, Jamie Brinksneader led off the bottom of the seventh inning with a walk.
Paige Gelarden bunted to sacrifice her to second but was also safe on an error.
